Lucid Animation: Covid-19 Lockdown

For my final university project, I decided to create an advertisement for my clothing brand Lucid. With Covid-19 shockingly changing everyone’s lives I decided that this would be an obvious and relevant topic to base my advertisement on. I decided to create an animation from scratch which included Lucid characters, which can be seen on our clothing, to tell a story about how boredom and staying in lockdown could lead you to do something you regret. The storyline is mainly based on using drugs when you’re bored and the consequences it causes, but it’s also relevant to mental health and how being in lockdown on you’re own and not seeing friends could make you think differently about illegal substances than normal. 

The animation is meant to include pinches of humour and innocence, and even though the topic being talked about is definitely not humorous, I feel it is a light take on an important message and something people will enjoy watching and find relevant at this point in time. 

 

This animation was created to promote Lucid as a brand and our story. We want to help young people who have drug-related issues by selling inspiring garments and becoming a community where it’s ok to speak to someone and talk about the issues you have in your life. And therefore this animation is being used as an advert on all of Lucid’s social media accounts. 

 

The animation is created by drawing each scene in Adobe Illustrator and then animating each scene in Adobe Animate.
